The Sacred Trek
Madhmaheshwar — Dwitiya Kedar, the second of the legendary Panch Kedar — is no ordinary destination. Sitting at 3,497 meters in the Garhwal Himalayas, it is the only place on earth where, according to scripture, the navel (madhya) of Lord Shiva himself emerged from the ground when he hid from the Pandavas as a bull.
The trek begins from our base camp at Uniyana Ransi, climbs through dense rhododendron and oak forests, crosses the roaring Madmaheshwar Ganga at Bantoli, and ascends through emerald meadows where wild horses graze beneath the towering Chaukhamba.
We are a community of local Garhwali trekkers who have walked this trail since childhood. We do not sell trips. We share a path our grandfathers walked.

The Journey
Day 01
Pickup from Akshardham Metro Station (Delhi) at 8:00 PM sharp by AC vehicle. Overnight journey through the foothills with scheduled tea stops. Sleep on the road, wake up in the mountains.
Day 02
Reach our Garhwali homestay at Uniyana village. Hot breakfast, rest, acclimatisation walk in the afternoon. Briefing, gear check, traditional dinner under the stars.
Day 03
The big day. Trek begins from Uniyana through Ransi and Bantoli, crossing the Madmaheshwar Ganga and climbing through rhododendron forests and alpine meadows. Reach the sacred temple by afternoon. Evening aarti and overnight near the temple.
Day 04
Pre-dawn hike up to Buda Madhmaheshwar for a 360° view of the Chaukhamba massif at sunrise. Descend to Uniyana, lunch at the homestay, and begin the journey back to Delhi. Drop at Akshardham Metro Station.

May to June and September to mid-October are ideal. The temple typically closes from November to April due to heavy snow.
Moderate. Anyone with basic fitness who can walk 12 km a day can complete it. We recommend 30 minutes of daily cardio for 3 weeks before the trek.

No. The doors of Madhmaheshwar are open from May to November. In winter the deity is moved to Ukhimath where worship continues.
